Annular Solar Eclipse Viewed in Mexico

Residents of the Mexican capital, Mexico City, watched the annular solar eclipse after 29 years. One hour and 20 minutes after the partial eclipse began, the Moon moved directly in front of the Sun, creating the ring of fire. The eclipse started at 09.36 local time and ended at 12.51.

The National Aeronautics and Space Agency (NASA) stated that three probe rockets were launched to examine how the decrease in sunlight during the eclipse affects the Earth’s atmospheric layer called ionosphere.
