anti-government protesters clash with police in lebanon

Anti-government protesters gathered in front of Lebanon’s Central Bank in Beirut, the country’s capital. Protesters held a demonstration and shouted slogans of “no to corruption, crime, and poverty.” The Lebanese army and riot police who arrived on the scene tightened security and closed the district’s Alhambra Street to traffic. During the sit-in, security forces intervened when protesters attempted to break through the bars in front of the Central Bank.
