Anti-government Protests Restart in Kenya: 1 Dead

Although the tax increase bill that led to violent protests was withdrew and President William Ruto’s terminated of the cabinet, violent anti-government demonstrations restarted in Kenya. Numerous people took to the streets, demanding Ruto’s resignation and systemic changes that will end corruption.

A protester died after police opened fire on stone-throwing protesters in the capital Nairobi.

According to the Kenya National Human Rights Commission, death toll from the protests since June 18 rose to 50 and the number of injured rose to 413.
