Anti-War Candidate Banned from Elections in Russia

The candidacy of anti-war Boris Nadezhdin, who declared his candidacy for the presidential election to be held in Russia on March 15, was rejected by the Russian Central Election Commission. 9,147 of 104,734 of his accepted signatures were deemed invalid by the commission in further examinations, disallowing Nadezhdin from running for the presidency for failing to reach the 100,000 signatures needed to be collected to run in the election. Nadezhdin defended that he had exceeded the legal signature limit and objected to the decision.
