April Snow Covers Storks in Türkiye

Unseasonal April snowfall has blanketed a resilient family of storks in the Başçiftlik district of Tokat province, Türkiye. These iconic birds, traditionally celebrated as the harbingers of spring, had just recently returned to the area to nest after a 25-year absence. Drone footage captured a picturesque scene of the storks refusing to abandon their newly built home atop a local mosque dome, even as the freezing weather persisted. Locals have been captivated by the birds’ dedication, viewing the striking images as a rare and beautiful collision of winter and spring.
