Armed attack on two schools in Brazil: 3 dead, 11 injured

Three died and 11 injured in the attacks carried out by an armed person at two different schools in the Brazillian city of Aracruz, located in the state of Espirito Santo.

The attacker first entered the Primo Bitti Public School at around 09:30 local time and randomly fired the pistol in his hand. Then, the attacker went to the teachers’ room, opened fire, and killed 2 teachers and wounded 9.

Following the incident, the attacker got into a vehicle and went to a nearby private school called Praia de Couqeiral Educational Center, where he killed 1 student and injured 2 others.

Military Police of Espírito Santo State officials stated that the attacker was identified as a student at the Primo Bitti Public School and said that his main target was the teachers.

Classes suspended for a day in Aracruz.

Three days of national mourning was declared in the state.
