Armenia Weighs Electricity Exports to Türkiye Amid Normalization

Armenia is exploring the possibility of exporting its surplus electricity to Türkiye as the two nations actively broaden their diplomatic and economic normalization efforts. In a major step forward, the neighboring countries recently finalized bureaucratic preparations to initiate direct trade and signed a highly symbolic agreement to reconstruct the historic Ani Bridge.

Emphasizing the rapidly expanding dialogue across multiple ministries, Armenian Deputy Foreign Minister Vahan Kostanyan stated, “Overall, the dynamics are quite positive, and I hope we are very close to concrete steps and tangible progress on the ground.” With border infrastructure already prepared for diplomats and third-country nationals, this historic thaw in relations continues to gain momentum.
