Around 20,000 Rounds of German Army Ammunition Stolen During Truck Stop

Around 20,000 rounds of German army ammunition were stolen from a transport truck in Burg, near Magdeburg, while the driver stopped for a break. The theft, confirmed by the Defense Ministry, was discovered during a count at the receiving barracks.

Officials say the transport company showed “gross negligence,” including failing to use two drivers and leaving the truck unattended. Investigators believe the thieves may have followed the vehicle for some time.

Berlin warned the stolen ammunition “must not fall into the wrong hands” as the search continues.
