Artemis II Crew Breaks Human Distance Record

Launched from the Kennedy Space Center in Florida, USA, the four astronauts aboard NASA’s Artemis II spacecraft have officially traveled further from Earth than any humans in history. By reaching a staggering distance of 406,765 kilometers into deep space, the crew shattered the previous record set by the Apollo 13 mission in 1970 by over 6,600 kilometers. This historic ten-day journey marks the first crewed lunar mission since 1972 and is taking the team around the previously unseen far side of the Moon. NASA Administrator Jared Isaacman praised the monumental milestone, celebrating it as a defining moment that renews global belief in America’s ability to achieve the extraordinary.
