Assad’s House in Damascus Captured

The abandoned four-story luxury house where Syrian ousted leader Bashar Assad lived with his family next to his father Hafez Assad’s house in Damascus before he fled the country has been captured.

A large number of photographs belonging to the Assad family were found scattered around the house, which was surrounded by the opposition forces that took over the government.

The Damascus Reception Hall, which is located opposite Assad’s residence and hosts incoming heads of state, has also been placed under protection.

“We thank our revolutionaries who saved us from a cruel dictator who ruled us for fifty years. This cruel and merciless dictator made our people live a period full of cruelty, death, exile and torture. Many people lost their lives. However, thanks to the courage of our heroes, we were saved from this infidel and cruel dictator. They allowed us to reunite with our families and our lands. May Allah protect them,” said a Syrian near the house.
