Astronaut Films Auroras from Space

NASA astronaut Jessica Meir has shared breathtaking footage of the aurora borealis captured from her vantage point aboard the International Space Station. Orbiting in a SpaceX Dragon spacecraft, Meir posted a time-lapse video on social media showcasing the vibrant light show, which was triggered by a recent solar event. She described the spectacle as an emotionally moving and impressive display, noting how the lights uniquely danced and swirled directly beneath the crew. The aurora borealis is a spectacular natural phenomenon created when charged particles from the Sun interact with the Earth’s atmosphere.
