Heavy rains hit western Saudi Arabia, including the coastal city of Jeddah, killing at least two people on Thursday. Hundreds of people were rescued from vehicles engulfed by floodwaters, according to Saudi civil defense officials. Due to heavy rains and strong winds, the General Administration of Education in Jeddah Governorate has announced the suspension of classes in all Jeddah schools. Some flights have also been rescheduled at King Abdulaziz International Airport.
Authorities have urged citizens and expatriates to exercise extreme caution in view of the continued inclement weather, heavy rain, and flash floods that are expected to hit various regions of the Kingdom.
