At least 7 killed in indian flooding

In the Indian state of Gujarat, at least 7 people died in the last 24 hours in the flood caused by heavy rains. The rains in the region will continue for a few more days, authorities warned citizens. A total of 27,896 people have been evacuated from the flood-affected areas and 18,825 of them remained in shelters, a local official said.

The Indian Meteorological Department has issued a red alert for heavy rains in the counties of Valsad, Navsari, Surat, Tapi, Dang, Narmada, Chhota Udepur as well as Kutch, Rajkot, Jamnagar, Devbhumi Dwarka and Morbi in Saurashtra.
