Flooding occurred in Ukraine after the Nova Kakhovka Hydroelectric Power Plant on the Dnipro River in the Russian-controlled Kherson region was hit. Authorities reported one death, one injury, and 7 missing cases. A total of 42 thousand people were said to have been affected by the floodwater levels, which are still increasing. According to the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense, at least 300 animals died due to the explosion at the power plant.
