Australia Fires HIMARS for First Time in Indo-Pacific Drill

Australia launched the High Mobility Artillery Rocket System (HIMARS) for the first time in the Indo-Pacific during the “Talisman Sabre” military exercise alongside the US, Japan, France, South Korea, and Singapore.

Held across thousands of kilometers, the exercise involves 40,000 troops from 19 countries. Australian Brigadier General Nick Wilson said the joint HIMARS use with Singapore and the US marks a key milestone in regional deterrence.

This comes as Australia plans to invest AU$74 billion in missile systems over the next decade, with HIMARS deliveries beginning in March.
