Avalanche kills 28 in China

An avalanche that collapsed on a road tunnel exit in the city of Nyingchi in the Tibet Autonomous Region in southwest China caused a disaster last Tuesday. While many vehicles were stranded in the region, 28 people were reported dead after 4 days of search and rescue efforts.

 

A total of 1,348 people, including firefighters, military units, local authorities and civilians, took part in the search and rescue efforts.
