Türkiye’s first astronaut, Alper Gezeravcı, shared insights during a press conference on the triumphant Axiom-3 space mission at the International Space Station (ISS). Gezeravcı emphasized the mission’s symbolic impact, uniting the nation and providing hope after last year’s natural disaster. Addressing the positive impact of the mission on national pride and space research, Gezeravcı stated, “We are moving forward to discover what has not been possible until now by advancing Türkiye’s role on the global stage.” He highlighted the achievements of Ax-3, including conducting agricultural work in low earth orbit and contributing to combating over 70 diseases using artificial intelligence.
Gezeravcı acknowledged the mission’s emotional resonance, thanked the harmonious crew, and stressed this success marks the beginning of Türkiye’s space journey.
