Azerbaijan held a commemoration ceremony in Baku for the 613 victims of the Khojaly Massacre, carried out by Armenian forces on February 26, 1992. President Ilham Aliyev, government officials, and citizens paid tribute at the Khojaly Monument, laying carnations and observing a moment of silence.
Turkish Ambassador to Baku, Birol Akgün, condemned the massacre, calling it a “black mark on humanity” and reaffirming Türkiye’s solidarity with Azerbaijan. The massacre, one of the darkest events in the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, left hundreds dead, missing, or severely wounded.
