Azerbaijan takes full control of formerly armenian-occupied city of Lachin

The Azerbaijani Ministry of Defense announced that the city of Lachin, as well as the villages of Zabuh and Sus, were fully liberated by the Azerbaijani army. The Azerbaijani army raised a flag in the heart of Lachin, where it has complete control of the city.

Following the Second Karabakh War, Armenians living in Lachin and some villages in Karabakh were to leave the area by the end of August, where they had illegally settled, according to a tripartite declaration signed on November 10, 2020 by Azerbaijan, Armenia, and Russia. With the departure of the Armenian population and the temporary Russian troops in the region, Azerbaijan took control of the city.
