A ceremony was held at the Turkish Martyrs’ Cemetery in Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan, to celebrate the 108th anniversary of the 18 March Çanakkale Victory and Martyrs’ Day, the day to commemorate the martyrs who died during the Çanakkale Naval Wars, which ended with the victory of the Ottoman Empire during the First World War.
After Zeynep Kıvılcım, Türkiye’s Baku Embassy Temporary Charge d’affaires, laid a wreath at the Martyrs’ Monument, a moment of silence was held and the national anthems of the two countries were sung.
