Bangladesh PM Flees to India Amid Protests

Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has resigned and fled to India after days of violent anti-government protests. Demonstrators, demanding her resignation, clashed with police and stormed the Prime Ministry building, resulting in 99 deaths.

The protests, initially sparked by public sector quotas for 1971 War of Independence families, continued despite the government’s partial withdrawal of the quotas.
