In Bangladesh, protests demanding Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s resignation have turned violent, resulting in 99 deaths as clashes between police and demonstrators escalate.
Thousands took to the streets after student leaders called for civil disobedience against the government. The situation deteriorated rapidly, with police using tear gas and rubber bullets to disperse the crowds. The fatalities include 22 in Sirajganj, 11 in Dhaka, 8 in Feni, and others across various regions.
Prime Minister Hasina, addressing a national security meeting, condemned the protesters, labeling them as “terrorists trying to destabilize the country,” and urged citizens to “strongly suppress these terrorists.”
