The first high-speed train custom-made for the Beijing Winter Olympics set off in China on Thursday. Specially designed train made it’s on the high-speed railway linking Beijing and Zhangjiakou, which are the co-host cities of the upcoming 2022 Winter Games. According to statement by the China State Railway Group, the train is decorated with a Winter Olympics-themed outer coating and special inner design. Group also stated that the train has various special features, including lockers for ski gear and wheelchair accessible spaces, as well as a newsroom that capable of 5G-assisted livestreaming and 4K technologies. With a maximum designed speed of 350 km/h, the high-speed train shuttles between the 3 main competition zones of the 2022 Winter Games, which Beijing’s downtown area, Yanqing District and Zhangjiakou. Meanwhile, the train’s schedule shows that train can reach Taizicheng area, where the location of an Olympic resort in Zhangjiakou city, within 50 minutes.
