The German capital Berlin, which is flocked by numerous local and foreign tourists, welcomed the New Year with hundreds of fireworks last night.
The biggest celebration in the city was in front of the Berlin Brandenburg Gate, where approximately 65,000 people attended the big New Year’s Eve party “Celebrate at the Gate” to watch local and foreign artists’ performances.
Berlin police increased security measures on New Year’s Eve due to the attack on a Christmas market in Magdeburg on December 20. Along with reinforcements from some other states, approximately 5,000 police officers were on duty to ensure the capital entered 2025 more safely.
