US President Joe Biden and US President Kamala Harris welcomed three prisoners returning to the United States after the swap operation in Ankara, Türkiye, at Andrews Air Force Base in the state of Maryland.
“There is nothing more important to me than protecting Americans at home and abroad,” said the US President.
Wall Street Journal reporter Evan Gershkovich, former US Marine Whelan, Russian-US dual citizen journalist Alsu Kurmasheva and Russian dissident Vladimir Kara-Murza were released in the swap coordinated by the National Intelligence Organization yesterday.
