Biden Resolute on Presidential Candidacy

US President Joe Biden has dismissed calls to withdraw from the presidential race due to his age, asserting, “I think I am the most qualified person to be a candidate for the presidency. I defeated Trump once, and I will defeat him again.”

Hosting the NATO Summit in Washington, Biden emphasized the summit’s success and NATO’s crucial role in global security. He highlighted the alliance’s unity, stating, “An attack on one would be considered an attack on all,” reinforcing NATO’s deterrence against aggression.

Criticizing former President Donald Trump, Biden remarked, “My predecessor made it clear that he has no commitment to NATO,” contrasting his administration’s efforts to strengthen the alliance.

Addressing his candidacy, Biden firmly stated his intention to remain in the race, dismissing concerns about his age. Despite a verbal slip where he mistakenly called Kamala Harris “Vice President Trump,” he reaffirmed his confidence in Harris’s qualifications.

On the topic of Israel, Biden noted the challenges in increasing humanitarian aid to Gaza, citing instances of uncooperativeness from the Israeli government.
