1.8 tons of drug found in Australia

Drug and Firearms Squad have performed the largest drug bust in history and found more than 1.8 tons of methamphetamine on two separate locations. 748 kilograms of methyl amphetamine was found in 24 separate containers transported from The United Arab Emirates to Botany Bay in Sydney at the beginning of August. On the other operation, officers found 1,060 kilograms of methamphetamine inserted in 19 marble tiles being transported to the same bay in Sydney. The worth of the drugs in total is estimated as $1,1b.

Three man aged 24, 26 and 34 have been arrested during the operations. Police Detective Chief Supt. John Watson said that they are mainly focusing on Middle East region but the operations will not cover only the area mentioned.
