US Secretary of State Antony Blinken’s visit to Greece was protested by thousands of people in the capital, Athens. The demonstrators, most of whom were leftists and pacifists, opposed the inclusion of Greece in NATO plans and the increase in armament programs, and chanted slogans against NATO and the USA, such as “The wars are theirs, the dead are ours”.
The demonstrators also demanded that the government devote more resources to health and education, noting that Greece could become a future target because of NATO.
