Blood Moon Spectacle in Western Türkiye

Skywatchers recently gathered to witness a stunning total lunar eclipse, widely known as a “Blood Moon.” This rare astronomical event was clearly visible to the naked eye across Muğla, Türkiye, as the moon passed entirely into the Earth’s shadow. The lunar surface took on striking copper and reddish tones caused by sunlight filtering through the atmosphere. These vibrant celestial colors combined beautifully with the region’s unique architecture and illuminated streets to create a captivating visual display. At the peak of the eclipse, the glowing sky blended perfectly with the local skyline, offering residents a truly unforgettable experience.
