Blooming Lavender Fields Draw Summer Crowds in Western Türkiye

Newly established lavender fields in Türkiye’s Kırklareli province have erupted into vibrant purple, becoming a major summer attraction for nature lovers and photographers. Traditionally known for growing wheat and barley, local farmers are increasingly turning to the aromatic plant as a lucrative alternative crop utilized across the cosmetics, health, and cleaning industries. The breathtaking landscape now serves as a vast open-air studio, drawing crowds eager to stroll through nature and capture stunning sunset photographs among the blooms. Visitors have a limited window to experience these vivid colors, which are expected to maintain their brilliance through the end of July. Once the agricultural harvest begins in August, the region’s signature purple hues will fade away until next season.
