In Mozambique, a tragic incident occurred as a boat capsized, resulting in the loss of 94 lives, with 26 individuals still missing. The boat, initially a fishing vessel, was being used for transportation beyond its capacity without authorization. INSTRASMAR manager Lourenco Machado confirmed the details, highlighting that the boat was overloaded with 130 passengers and faced a heavy wave while en route from Lunga to Mozambique Island. Nampula State Minister Jaime Netoise mentioned that the passengers were fleeing a cholera outbreak, emphasizing the boat’s unsuitability for passenger transport.
