Bolivian opposition leader and Santa Cruz Governor Luis Fernando Camacho was detained yesterday. Camacho was charged with leading the 2019 coup that resulted in the resignation of President Evo Morales. His supporters who want to libereted him, blocked some parts of Santa Cruz with barricade. Police blocked the protestors, who set barricades and cars on fire.
Camacho, was transferred from Santa Cruz to the police station in La Paz, denied the charges against him, saying he was a victim of political repression. He refused to testify to prosecutors, saying he had no guarantee of a fair trial, and used his right to remain silent.
