Bosnia Elects New Presidency Council

Voters in Bosnia and Herzegovina have selected their new tripartite Presidency Council during the latest general elections. With nearly 95% of the ballots counted, preliminary results confirm that incumbent members Denis Becirovic and Zeljka Cvijanovic were re-elected to the Bosniak and Serb seats. Darijana Filipovic successfully secured the Croat seat, introducing a fresh face to the country’s highest executive body. In a closely contested race for the Bosniak seat, Becirovic claimed victory with roughly 38% of the vote, narrowly defeating Bakir Izetbegovic, who took 34%. Alongside the presidency, citizens also cast their ballots to fill parliamentary positions at the national, entity, and cantonal levels.
