Bridge over Elbe River Partly Collapses in Dresden, Germany

A 100-meter section of the Carola Bridge over the Elbe River in Dresden, Germany, containing train tracks, collapsed overnight. The collapse damaged pipes that provide the city’s heating system and caused disruption in traffic. Officials said the last tram had passed over the bridge 10 minutes before the incident and there were no casualties or injuries.

Officials said the bridge may have been corroded and that further collapses are possible.
