A bridge over the river in Palma, Santa Maria, collapsed during flood in Brazil’s Rio Grande do Sul state. No casualties occurred during the incident.
According to the statement made by Rio Grande do Sul Civil Defense, the number of deaths in the flood increased to 39 and at least 24,000 people were displaced. The disaster affected 235 different points, including the state’s capital, Porto Alegre.
