Images of the thousands of buffalo herd grazing together in the villages of Budakli and Gölbaş in Bitlis’ Güroymak district offer visual feast. Cream and yogurt made from buffalo milk, which are among the main sources of income for the district’s citizens, are shipped to different provinces in Turkey and abroad. The buffaloes, which are taken out to graze on the pastures every day, cool off by wading into the nearby water to relieve the heat.
