burned forest area in Adana revives after seeds sprout

The General Directorate of Forestry in Turkey planted 9 tons of seeds on an area of 1896 hectares that were destroyed by last year’s fire in Adana’s Kozan district. The traces of the fire on the trunk of the trees cut down in the burning forest area are still heartbreaking to see, however the seeds that grow on the field give hope to the locals.

Nergül Kara, who suffered from the forest fire, said, “We want our forests to sprout. The planted seeds are growing now. Our prayers are for the burned places. Everything, our forest, was burned in the fire of our future.”
