California Forest Fire Forces Thousands to Evacuate

The “Franklin Fire” in Malibu, California, has burned 4,037 acres since it began on December 9, destroying nine buildings. Approximately 6,300 residents have been evacuated, with schools and workplaces closed. Firefighters are struggling to contain the blaze due to steep terrain northwest of Los Angeles, according to CAL FIRE official Dusty Martin.

The fire has affected around 22,000 people, including celebrities like Dick Van Dyke, who safely evacuated ahead of his 99th birthday. Homes of stars such as Cher, Lady Gaga, Beyoncé, and Jay-Z are also within the evacuation zone. Officials estimate it will take days to control the flames.
