California Wildfire Destroys 132 Structures, State of Emergency Declared

A fierce wildfire in Ventura County, California, has engulfed 20,000 acres in just 24 hours, destroying 132 structures and damaging 88 others. The fire, fueled by strong winds, remains largely uncontrolled, with only 5% containment reported. Ventura County Sheriff James Fryhoff confirmed that 10 people were injured and at least 14,000 residents have been evacuated. In response, Governor Gavin Newsom declared a state of emergency, mobilizing statewide resources. Southern California Edison has cut power to 70,000 homes and businesses across five counties to reduce fire risks. The cause of the blaze remains under investigation.
