Car-free day in Paris

Paris celebrated car-free day, on which motor vehicles are banned in the city center between 11 a.m. and 6 p.m. on last Sunday. Police officers rode horses instead of driving cars. The residents commuted mostly via bicycles. However, there were also vehicles noticed on the roads that didn’t participate in the car-free day.

“This year, however, it was a little disappointing and we noticed that in addition to emergency vehicles and buses, there were also a large number of private cars.” said a participant.

“I thought it is pretty good, at least the weather was nice. It’s the end of summer and it’s a great way to explore Paris by bike. Hopefully more and more young people will have this awareness so we can make a difference.” says another resident.
