Cattle Migration at Türkiye’s Mount Nemrut

In Türkiye’s Bitlis province, around 4,000 small cattle made their annual journey to Kalp Lake on Mount Nemrut to find water, forming stunning views. Herds crossing dusty trails at sunrise and sunset offered postcard-like scenes.

Nomadic families bring their animals to the highlands each summer for better grazing. Herder Şefket Erkin said they come for cooler air and richer grass, which improves milk and cheese production.
