China, UAE Sign LNG Deal Amid US Trade Tensions

China’s CNOOC has signed a 5-year deal with UAE’s ADNOC to purchase 500,000 tons of LNG annually starting in 2026. The move follows China’s halt in LNG imports from the US amid rising tariffs.

This marks China’s third LNG agreement with the UAE as tensions escalate with Washington. Other Chinese firms, including ENN and Zhenhua Oil, also secured LNG deals with ADNOC, signaling a broader energy shift away from the US.
