Clashes in Northern Kosovo Leave 75 Injured, Including NATO Soldiers

In a clash between demonstrators opposing the appointment of Albanian mayors in northern Kosovo and security forces, a total of 75 people were injured. Among them were 25 NATO’s Kosovo Peacekeeping Force (KFOR) soldiers. In Leposavic, Zveçan, and Zubin Potok, where the majority of Serbs reside, many people, including KFOR soldiers, were injured. Northern Mitrovica Hospital reported 50 injuries, with 3 being treated at the hospital and 1 in critical condition. KFOR Commander General Angelo Michele Ristuccia stated that Hungarian and Italian soldiers were targeted, resulting in around 25 injuries. Italian Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani confirmed that 11 Italian soldiers were injured, with 3 in serious but stable condition.
