Clashes in Serbia Leave Dozens Injured

In Serbia, violent clashes erupted between government supporters and protesters opposing President Aleksandar Vucic’s administration. Incidents occurred in Vrbas, Backa Palanka, Belgrade, Novi Sad, and Niš, leaving dozens injured, including 16 police officers. Protesters said attacks were initiated by ruling party supporters. Police detained several people amid interventions.

The protests, ongoing for nine months, began after a train station collapse in Novi Sad last November killed 16 people. Demonstrators blame government corruption in public projects and continue to demand early elections, which President Vucic has rejected.
