Climate Activists Protest Use of Fossil Fuel at German Airports

Eight members of the environmentalist group Letzte Generation (Last Generation) organized protests in 4 German airports in Berlin, Bonn, Nuremberg, and Stuttgart, calling on the government to make a global agreement to end fossil fuel use by 2030. The protesters, who sneaked into the airports’ runways, caused disruptions in flights.

German Interior Minister Nancy Faeser said on social media that the criminal actions of the protesters were “dangerous and stupid” and that she recommended heavy prison sentences for such actions.
