Climbers Snowy Challenge to Reach Türkiye’s Nemrut Crater Lake

A group of climbers embarked on a challenging 14-hour journey to reach Nemrut Crater Lake, Türkiye’s largest and the world’s third-largest crater lake, located in Tatvan district, Bitlis. Despite blocked roads due to snow, Dr. Cihan Önen and his mountaineer companions successfully reached the site. Upon arrival at the frozen lake, the climbers, including Cengiz Gencer, enjoyed skating on the icy surface. The team, having witnessed the natural wonder, later embarked on the return journey to Tatvan district. Despite the difficulties, the climbers expressed their delight in experiencing Nemrut’s magnificence in both summer and winter.
