Preparations for the pilgrimage began in the Kaaba in Mecca, Saudi Arabia. The General Directorate for the Affairs of Al-Masjid an-Nabawi and Masjid al-Haram announced that the cover of Kaaba was pulled up 3 meters to prevent the pilgrims from cutting the cover of the Kaaba, despite the make of barricades around it. After removing the cover, the lower part of the Kaaba was covered with another white cotton cover, 2 meters long and 47 meters wide.
The cover of the Kaaba will be restored after the pilgrimage season.
