A cruise ship and an oil tanker collided on April 6 at the Port of Algiers in Algeria’s capital, Algiers. While maneuvering, the passenger ship “Jean Nicoli” of the French company Corsica Linea collided with the oil tanker “Tolga” of Naftal, Algeria’s national oil distribution company.

Corsica Linea stated in a statement that the cruise ship lost control while the captain was maneuvering, and that the Port of Algiers and commercial navigation authorities have begun an investigation to determine the causes and conditions of the accident.
