Cruise Ship Diverts to Alanya Amid Israeli Conflict

The Dutch luxury cruise ship Nieuw Statendam, originally departing from Israel’s Haifa Port, changed its route to Alanya due to the ongoing war in Israel. Upon arrival in Alanya, 2,542 tourists, mainly U.S. citizens, disembarked from the ship. The decision to alter the route was made to avoid Israeli ports amid the conflict. Most passengers explored Alanya’s attractions, with no Israeli tourists on board. Nieuw Statendam is scheduled to continue its journey and will anchor in Alanya Port before heading to Limassol, Cyprus.
