Cuba Battles Second Hurricane in a Month

Cuba, which was hit by Tropical Storm Oscar that made landfall on October 20, is battling another powerful storm, Hurricane Rafael. The Category 3 level hurricane made landfall on the Caribbean island with a population of 10 million, alarming 9 of the country’s 15 regions. The country’s power grid collapsed due to the strong winds, leaving approximately 10 million people without electricity throughout the country.

Tropical Storm Oscar caused a failure in the Antonio Guiteras Power Plant 3 weeks ago, leaving millions without electricity.
